The Marxism College (School of Social Sciences) is a secondary institution in the direct charge of Shenzhen University, undertaking teaching and researchtasks of ideological and political theory courses for all undergraduates and postgraduates of the University.

The college currently consists of 4teaching departments including Introduction to Marxist principles, Outline of Chinese modern history,The new era of Xi Jinping Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics Thought Mao Zedong Thought and theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics(Situations and policies included), Ideological and moral cultivation and legal basis,as well as Outline of Chinese modern history.

In addition, the college is home to 6 academic research institutes: Immigration Culture Research Center, Shenzhen International Development Strategy Research Center, Deng Xiaoping Theory Research Center of SZU, Contemporary Chinese Thought and Culture Research Center, Moral Culture Research Institute of SZU, and Chinese SystemPhilosophy Research Center of SZU.
