 Research Overview ofthe Marxism College atShenzhen University

The Marxism College atShenzhen University was approved tooffer the master degree program “Marxist Theory and Ideological and Political Education” in 2003; approved to offer the master degree programs “Basic Principles of Marxism”, “Study on the Sinicization of Marxism” and “Ideological and Political Education and Scientific Socialism and International Communist Movement” in 2006; and approved to offer the master degree program for the first-level discipline “Marxist Theory” in 2017, and now has five discipline directions: “Ideological and Political Education”, “Basic Principles of Marxism”, “Study on the Sinicization of Marxism”, “Development History of Marxism” and “Study on Basic Issues of Modern and Contemporary Chinese History”.

In the past five years, the faculty of the college has undertaken 12 national social science projects, including 1 major project funded by the National Social Science Fund; 5 projects of the Ministry of Education and 26 provincial and ministerial-level projects; and has published more than 230 high-level academic papers in “Social Sciences in China”, “Studies On Marxism” and other journals, withlots of papers reprinted or collected by “Xinhua Digest”, “Chinese Social Science Digest” and “Studies On Marxism”.The college has won more than 10 provincial and municipal-level government awards for scientific research, and published more than 10 academic works. At present, the College has a number of academic research institutions, including “Immigration Cultural Research Base of Shenzhen University, Institute of Contemporary Chinese Thought and Culture, Deng Xiaoping Theory Research Center of Shenzhen University, Moral Culture Institute of Shenzhen University, Chinese System Philosophy Research Center of Shenzhen University, Shenzhen Center for International Strategic Studies, Ecological Civilization and Green Development Research Center”, etc.
