On the morning of January 6th, the fifteenth seminar of the series of ideological and political theory courses for doctoral students was held in H4-201 of the Humanities Building. It was our great honor to invite Professor Fu Heming, dean of the School of Marxism, Shenzhen University, to give a special speech on "Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and Practice in Shenzhen" to the doctoral students. With his years of research experience, rich knowledge about Marxist theory and vivid language, Professor Fu told the students about the theoretical knowledge of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the practical development of Shenzhen.

   First of all, Professor Fu Heming discussed the stages of the logical evolution of socialist ideology with Chinese characteristics: the stage of proposal (first proposed at the opening ceremony of the 12th National Congress of the Communist Party of China), the stage of exploration (from the 13th to the 15th National Congress of the Communist Party of China), and the stage of determination (the 16th From the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China to the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China), and a new stage (the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China). To sum up, the logic of the evolution history of socialist ideology with Chinese characteristics is none, being, confirmation and new. Moreover, according to him, the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China announced that socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era, which is a scientific judgment on the new historical position of our country. The new era requires new ideas, which is the historical background of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. Professor Fu Heming also pointed out that the theoretical background of this thought includes a series of direct and indirect theories, which have prepared theoretically for the birth of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.

Secondly, Professor Fu Heming summed up the four characteristics of the new thought: affirmative thinking, holistic thinking, strategic thinking, and organizational thinking. He suggested that one of the successful experiences of the Chinese Communist Party in gaining power is organizational thinking. Thinking determines the way out, and the pattern determines the outcome. In order to do a good job in organizational work in the new era, we must establish a scientific way of thinking, and use organizational thinking to promote the high-quality development of organizational work. In addition, Professor Fu pointed out that for organizational work, organizational thinking is  to identify the combination and focus of organizational work to serve the overall situation. We must learn to look at the general situation, figure out the big picture, and grasp the big things. We should focus on cultivating talents, grasping the grassroots, and maintaining the foundation. The best way to organize work in the new era is to solve both  specific problems and  profound problems, to be able  to truly make plans for things, move according to the situation, and follow the trend.

Finally, Professor Fu Heming emphasized the practice of Shenzhen. During the 40 years of reform and opening up, the party and the state have positioned Shenzhen as to become a modern international innovative city, which is a positive evaluation.  Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area cities are positioned Shenzhen as to accelerate the construction of a modern, internationalized and innovative city, and to become an innovative and creative capital with world influence. Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era is meaningful in guiding the development of Shenzhen. Shenzhen's development not only represents the practice and exploration of socialism with Chinese characteristics, but also the test and enrichment of new ideas.
