On the morning of March 30th, Professor Huang Qihong, director of the Western Marxism Research Institute of Southwest University and head of the foreign Marxism research discipline of Southwest University, was invited to give a speech entitled " "Research on Frontier Issues of Western Marxism” on the academic lecture of the Philosophy and Social Sciences Forum of the School of Marxism, Shenzhen University.Professor Huang Qihong first outlined the development process of Western Marxism in major countries in the 20th century, as well as the representatives and main viewpoints of various academic schools. He then reviewed some frontiers issues of Western Marxism, referring to current researches on the these issues in China. . Some main contents he addressed included the relationship between Marx's theory of globalization and the world system, Marx's ecological thought and the theoretical reconstruction of ecological Marxism, Marx's financial theory and the criticism of financial capitalism, Marx's machine thinking and the reflection of artificial intelligence, Marx's view of justice and the criticism of liberal justice theory, Marx's aesthetic thought and the construction of life aesthetics, Marx's labor theory of value and the criticism of digital capitalism, Marx's legal thought and the criticism of capitalist legal rights, Marx's consciousness Morphological theory and the reconstruction of the revolutionary subject, Marx’s concept of practice and the revival of practical wisdom, media capitalism and the critique of symbols, spatial production and urban critique, feminist Marxist theory, micro-power critique and body theory, philosophical reflections on the coronavirus pandemic in the capitalist world, and so on.

Professor Huang Qihong, with his keen insight, broad vision and profound learning, presented a lecture that is  academically forward-looking, rich in theoretical connotation and practical significance. Before the end of the lecture, Professor Huang Qihong carefully recorded and answered the questions raised by teachers and students one by one. The lecture ended successfully in pleasant atmosphere.
