Qingshan Fosters Ambition and Intellect by Cracking the Hardest Nut

——Donation and Inauguration Ceremony of Qingshan Library Turnkey Project


The CPC Committee of the Marxism College is committed to learning, thinking about, practicing and comprehending the spirit of the 20th Party Congress, deepening education on learning and acting on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and implementing the policies and plans made by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council to mobilize social resources to consolidate and expand the achievements in poverty alleviation and integrate rural revitalization organically. To this end, the Marxism College promotes the Marxist style of study, adheres to the unity of knowledge and action and learning for practice, gives full play to its academic strengths in Marxism theory, and heightens the awareness of contribution and the ability to serve the society with theories among the faculty and the students, in line with the fundamental mission of higher education, that is, cultivating virtues in students, and the goal of postgraduate education of the College. On April 20, a group of students and faculty members from the Marxism College visited Shanxia Village, Liyuan Town, Heping County, Heyuan City for the donation and inauguration ceremony of Qingshan Library turnkey project at Shanxia Primary School. 2,324 books and some sports supplies were donated. Each of the 52 children at Shanxia Primary School received a stationery package. Present at the ceremony were 30 students and teachers including Wang Hong, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee of SZU and Secretary of the CPC Committee of the Marxism College, Dean Fu Heming, Deputy Secretary Chen Yiming, teachers and counsellors of ideology and politics, members of Party building organizations, and postgraduate students who are Party members or activists about joining the Party. Also present were Liu Jianyi, Vice Chairman of the People's Congress of Liyuan Town and head of the working group of Shanxia Village, Zou Haipiao, secretary of the CPC Committee branch and head of the Committee of Shanxia Village, Wang Weiwei, leader of the task force for rural revitalization at Liyuan Town and cadre of the Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League, Yang Zhenyu, deputy leader of the task force for rural revitalization at Liyuan Town, first secretary of Shanxia Village and teacher of the Marxism College, Yang Jian, member of the task force for rural revitalization at Liyuan Town and teacher of the Organization Department, Wang Jiang, member of the task force for rural revitalization at Liyuan Town, first secretary of Chilong Village and teacher of the Communist Youth League Committee of SZU, and Huang Jinnong, Principal of Shanxia Primary School, together with 52 students and some villagers.

   

   

Wang Hong delivered a speech at Shanxia Primary School. She elaborated on the far-reaching significance and profound feelings of the CPC Committee of the Marxism College, SZU in implementing the “Ambition and Intellect Aid” initiative, in terms of the prospect and significance of building China as an education power, continued efforts on poverty eradication and actions on rural revitalization. The Marxism College took a concrete step to implement a series of important instructions given by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on education power by founding Shenzhen University Ideology and Politics Teaching Practice Base at Shanxia Primary School, she added. The base is expected to lay the foundation for bringing up builders and successors of socialism and boost fundamental programs for national rejuvenation. Wang Hong stressed that the Marxism College, by teaming up with the CPC Committee branch of Shanxia Village, aims to combine rural revitalization with higher education, give full play to its ideology and politics education resources, drive the deep integration and effective connection between poverty eradication and rural revitalization, give multipronged aids, and contribute to balanced development of the region. To conclude her speech, Wang Hong said that Qingshan Library inaugurated today at Shanxia Primary School implies our best wishes that the children will grow as strong and tenacious as the bamboo that has its root deeply entrenched in the rock, uphold the new development concept that “Clear waters and green mountains are as valuable as mountains of gold and silver", inherit the unwavering faith of their fathers, and with an ambition as lofty as green mountains, revitalize their hometown, contribute to the society and the country, and become useful talents for building socialist China.

                                                       

Next, on the square of Shanxia Primary School, under the five-star red flag and amid the spring breeze full of hope, Secretary Wang Hong, Dean Fu Heming, Principal of Shanxia Primary School Huang Jinnong and first secretary Yang Zhenyu at the village, jointly unveiled Qingshan Library and held the key handover and official launch ceremony.

                                                   

                                                       

The CPC Committee of the Marxism College donated 2,324 books and some sports supplies to Shanxia Primary School, and the faculty presented a stationery package to each of the 52 children at Shanxia Primary School. The 315-kilometer trip to Liyuan Town is a journey of united and continuous efforts of the teachers and students. This lasting friendship grows in the land of Liyuan. Poverty alleviation and intellect aid not only consolidate the achievements in poverty alleviation, but also shed light on the way to prosperity for Liyuan Town.

                                                       

                                                       

                                                       

To foster endogenous drivers for innovation and development at the aided village, the CPC Committee of the Marxism College mapped out the Three-Year Action Plan "I do practical things for the people" in 2021. The leadership group, Party members, teachers and students paid three visits to Shanxia Village for field work and worked out practical measures in support of rural revitalization, including donation and aid by businesses, consumption aid and education aid. At the same time, the College leverages its educational resources and aligns with Shanxia Village Committee, Liyuan Town on Party building. At Shanxia Primary School, Shenzhen University Ideology and Politics Teaching Practice Base was launched, to establish Party leadership in rural revitalization through pairing between CPC Committees, mutual help among Party members, two-way exchange and joint improvement. The CPC Committee of the College raised and spent more than 50,000 yuan to help renovate the office of the Party Service Center at Shanxia Village, and donated office supplies and other materials, as well as 6 air conditioners and 500 books, so that it can better serve the villagers. Moreover, cooperation on rural revitalization, poverty alleviation and education aid, aid to disadvantaged families, ideology and politics education and labor education is deepened. All "I do practical things for the people" programs are well planned in advance, fine-tuned regularly and monitored carefully to assure effectiveness.

Committed to its mission and social responsibility, the CPC Committee of the College plans for, implements and drives the fundamental mission of higher education, that is, cultivating virtues in students, and "I do practical things for the people" activities, in parallel with education aid and support to rural revitalization. In view of the gap in educational resources at Shanxia Village, the College mobilized enterprises and raised more than 200,000 yuan together with Liu Junli, a business owner and a philanthropist in Shenzhen. A well-appointed, all-function modern Qingshan Library has been built and is applauded by the teachers and students of Shanxia Primary School. The first batch of donations include a 65-inch integrated intelligent teaching device worth 19,000 yuan, some books and sports supplies for primary school students worth 15,000 yuan in total, and a stationery package, notebooks and "200 Must-have Ancient Poems for Primary School Students” per student.  The Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of the College donated two 150L boxes of Lego blocks to enrich the daily life of the children and cultivate their hands-on ability, creativity and imagination.
