The first batch of Marxism College students who went to Xinjiang to teach returned with honors

In the morning of July 5, the Marxism College welcomed the students who volunteered teaching in Xinjiang in 2023 at Room 1600 of Liberal Arts Building, and held a volunteer teaching sharing meeting. A total of more than 30 students from Grade 2022 and Grade 2023 participated in the activity. Wang Ping, Deputy secretary of Party Committee of Marxism College, attended and presided over the meeting.

Three students, Yang Tianwen, Liu Yajun and Zhang Zhaodong, from the Marxism College, actively responded to the call and traveled thousands of miles to Kashgar, Xinjiang to volunteer teaching. They successfully completed the half-year volunteer teaching task and returned with great praise. They volunteered to teach in Kashgar No. 3 Middle School and Kashgar No. 4 Middle School respectively. The three students overcame the difficulties of different learning conditions, different diets and different climates. They enthusiastically participated in local education, and actively shared tasks for other teachers. They devoted themselves meticulously in preparing lessons, teaching and participating in local volunteer services. The enthusiastic working state of the students won the unanimous praise of the leaders and teachers of the middle schools, and also fully demonstrated the aspirations of our students to forge ahead in the western part of the country and provide sincere assistance for education in Xinjiang.

Deputy Secretary Wang Ping praised the excellent performance of the three students in Xinjiang volunteer education and affirmed their dedication and contribution. She said that the Party Committee of the Marxism College attached great importance to this work, and actively mobilized outstanding students with ideals, pursuits, emotions and qualifications to participate in volunteer teaching. The students of our college also responded and signed up positively. The first batch of three students who volunteered teaching in Xinjiang fully demonstrated the contemporary young college students’ profound love for home and country, lofty ideals and beliefs, and hard-working dedication, which brought honor to our college and set a good example for all students.

She introduced the basic situation of volunteer teaching in Xinjiang to the students present at the meeting, and encouraged more students who are committed to the cause of education and care about the motherland to contribute more of their wisdom and strength to the development of education in border areas, social stability and national unity. She hoped that the volunteer teaching program will be passed on as a fine tradition of the Marxism College.

Afterwards, all the teachers and students watched the promotional video of volunteer teaching in Xinjiang together.

       

   



The three students who returned with great praise introduced their experience and feelings of volunteer education in Xinjiang.

Yang Tianwen shared the background of volunteer teaching in Xinjiang, the basic situation of volunteer teaching sites and his personal gains from the program. He said that this special, extraordinary and rewarding volunteer teaching experience will surely write a strong mark in his life.

    

                           



The student Zhang Zhaodong talked about the situation of students and his understanding of volunteer teaching. He believed that the volunteer teaching in Xinjiang could bring new teaching methods and concepts there, and also broaden their horizons and guide them out of Kashgar and Xinjiang to learn more advanced knowledge and skills in developed areas for building their hometown.

 

                           



The student Liu Yajun introduced her experience from aspects of love for home and country, teaching tasks and after-school life. She said that it is a great honor to contribute to the development of the western region, and also a very beautiful and unforgettable experience. She hoped that students who are interested in volunteer teaching in Xinjiang can take the task of volunteer teaching seriously and fully enjoy the local conditions and customs of the western region.

 

                           



The students present at the meeting had in-depth and warm exchanges on the work of volunteer teaching in Xinjiang. The sharing meeting further deepened the students’ understanding of the program, and stimulated their enthusiasm and ambition to provide assistance for Xinjiang, a vivid lesson for patriotic education and ideological and political education.
